Privacy policy

This policy explains what information RCA Signal Finder (“we”, “us”), operated by Asaru Labs Ltd, collects when you use rcasignalfinder.com (the “site”), how it is used, and the choices you have. It covers the website only; the RCA Signal Finder mobile apps have their own privacy information in the App Store and Google Play listings.

Summary

• You do not need an account, and we do not ask for your name, email or any other personal details to use the site.
• Your location, if you share it, stays in your browser. It is never sent to our servers.
• We use Google Analytics to measure traffic, and we use or plan to use Google AdSense to show ads. Both use cookies.
• We do not sell your personal information.

Information processed in your browser only

Location. If you tap “My location”, your browser asks for permission and then shares your position with the page. It is used only inside your browser to calculate distances and directions to TV towers. It is not sent to or stored on our servers, and it is not passed to analytics or advertising partners.

Compass. On phones, “Point my antenna” reads your device's orientation sensor in your browser. Nothing is recorded or sent anywhere.

Searches. City and ZIP code searches run against data files downloaded to your browser. Search terms are not sent to our server. Searched coordinates appear in the page address so you can bookmark or share a result.

Settings. Your search distance, filters, units and map style are saved in your browser's local storage. You can remove them by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Information collected automatically

Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider records standard request information such as IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the time of the request. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running, and are deleted on the host's normal schedule.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful and how visitors find the site. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as pages visited, time on page, approximate location derived from your IP address, device type and browser. We receive only aggregated reports. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Advertising

We use, or will use, Google AdSense to show ads on the site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices (US) or www.youronlinechoices.eu (EU). If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized.

Maps and other services

Map tiles are loaded from MapTiler, which receives your IP address and the map area requested, as with any image loaded from another website. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors. Links to the App Store and Google Play take you to Apple's and Google's sites, which have their own privacy policies.

Cookies

The site itself does not set cookies. Cookies may be set by Google Analytics, Google AdSense and its advertising partners, and by Amazon if you follow an affiliate link. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the tower finder keeps working without them.

Children

The site is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information held about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. This includes rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR, and under US state laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act. Because we do not hold accounts or contact details, most data about your visit is held by the services named above. You can exercise your choices with them through the links in this policy, or contact us at support@asarulabs.com and we will help. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, except through the Google advertising cookies described above, which you can opt out of.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the site or the services it uses change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
