About broadcast networks and affiliates

A network such as ABC or NBC produces national programming, but it reaches your antenna through a local affiliate: a station licensed to a city near you that carries the network's schedule alongside its own local news and ads. Each affiliate broadcasts from its own tower, which is why the direction you point your antenna depends on where your local affiliates' towers stand, not on the network.

Station network tags come from our enriched FCC dataset. Not every affiliate is tagged yet, especially public television member stations and stations that carry a network only on a subchannel, so treat this list as a guide rather than a complete roster.
